3 Tips To Keeping Your Skin Healthy, Strong And Radiant

Your skin is the shield that protects your entire body. Whoa — now that’s a pretty important job if you have to ask me! We should be doing everything in our power to keep our skin healthy, strong, and looking radiant.

Nowadays, we are actually doing our skin more harm than good with the number of chemical products we use.

So, what should we do to make sure we get the most longevity from our skin? We must do our research and fully commit ourselves to take that extra step in making sure we do what’s best for our bodies because what might work wonders for one person may not works wonders for you.

There are thousands of products out there in the market that are geared towards giving you the best skin throughout your entire life but these products cost hundreds of dollars.

Celebrities around the world have the advantage of doing things such as getting bi-weekly facials, skin tightening procedures, botox, the list could go on and on! But, what about the average Joe or Jane? They have the right to look as good as the celebrities don’t they?!

Well, if you’re that average Joe or Jane, I have a few au natural tips that will keep your skin feeling healthy, soft, and radiant for the many years to come.

Your skin’s first number one fan is… yup, you guessed it! The EXFOLIANT.

Exfoliating your skin (and yes, not just your face people, your ENTIRE body) is extremely important in getting rid of the many dead skin cells that are produced on your skin on a daily basis.

Once we get older, the cell generation process slows down drastically, meaning that dead skin cells begin to pile up on our skin and clog pores, making it look dry and tons of things we don’t want our skin looking like.

Therefore, it is your duty to make sure you get rid of these dead skin cells through proper exfoliation.

Now, here is the first thing — you want to make sure that you are not over-exfoliating.

Yes, folks, they’re right when they say too much of anything can be bad for you! Try to limit exfoliating to once or twice a week depending on your skin’s needs. Any more than this can cause your skin to get dry, damaged, and ultimately hate you.

It’s important to note that when it comes to our beauty, we should start getting rid of these gender norms. Many people tend to direct the process of exfoliating to women, but should women be the ones to have healthy, glowing skin? I believe it’s just as important for men to exfoliate and to not feel that they are being stripped of their masculinity by exfoliating.

Hey, dude, it’s okay. Most women love it when guys have gorgeous, soft skin! Make your skin last as long as possible by incorporating exfoliating into your everyday routine as well. Oh, and if it gets you more chicks, I want my credit.

I know guys, we all love it when the sun shines and we have the chance to soak up some vitamin D but seriously, the sun and our skin are not BFF’s. Sorry if I just ruined some lives there.

My next tip for you to continue having healthy skin until your gray is to protect it as much as possible form the sun by using SUNSCREEN.

Sunscreen is important because it protects our most precious outer layer of skin from its harmful UV rays.

When exposed too much to the sun, it can cause our skin to get wrinkles, burn, or even develop forms of skin cancer. This is a serious matter, you guys, so watch out for the sun okay?

There are many different levels of sunscreen that come in all different shapes and sizes. Again, it comes down to doing the research to find out which sunscreen might work best for your skin. For example, there is sunscreen that contains SPF 15, SPF 30, and SPF 50.

These different numbers basically let you know how well and how long the sunscreen will be effective for. SPF 50 protects a higher percentage if the suns rays than SPF 15 does. What you put on the inside of your body shows on the outside!

My third tip for healthy, radiant skin is making sure you have a healthy, well-balanced DIET.

Eating fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, proteins, and vitamins is essential to healthy skin and a healthy you. Take vitamins and any other supplements in order to make sure you are getting enough of what you need.

And of course, we can’t forget one of the most important things in this healthy skin regime — WATER. Ditch the soda (or pop if you’re from the mid-west like me) and replace it with water.

It may difficult for you to drink water because you love the taste of things with flavor. Try adding fresh fruits to your water to make it a little sweeter and refreshing.
